Looking for a place to smoke at Philadelphia International Airport? Here is your guide to smoking areas at PHL, one of the largest airports on the East Coast.
Smoking Areas at Philadelphia Airport
Philadelphia International is completely smoke-free indoors. There are no smoking rooms, lounges, or enclosed smoking areas in any of the seven terminals.
Terminals A through F:
PHL has seven terminal buildings (A-West, A-East, B, C, D, E, and F). American Airlines, the dominant carrier, operates primarily from Terminals B and C with additional gates in A and F. Each terminal has designated outdoor smoking areas on the lower level (arrivals and baggage claim area).
Terminal F (Regional):
Terminal F handles regional and commuter flights. Its outdoor smoking area is on the lower level near the ground transportation zone.
Philadelphia Airport Smoking Policy
Pennsylvania’s Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits smoking in all enclosed public spaces, including airports. PHL enforces a complete indoor smoking ban across all seven terminals with no exceptions.
PHL is a large airport spread across multiple terminals. The walk from gates at the far end of any terminal back to the outdoor areas can take 15 to 20 minutes. Plan approximately 35 to 50 minutes for the full round trip including TSA re-screening, depending on which terminal you are in.
Tips for Smokers at Philadelphia Airport
