Looking for a place to smoke at LaGuardia Airport? Here is your guide to smoking zones at LGA, located in Queens, New York City.
Smoking Zones at LaGuardia Airport
LaGuardia completed a major redevelopment in recent years and is entirely smoke-free indoors. There are no smoking rooms or indoor smoking areas in any terminal.
Terminal B (Delta):
The rebuilt Terminal B features a modern design with two island concourses connected by pedestrian bridges. Outdoor smoking areas are located on the arrivals level (ground level) near the curbside pickup area. Exit through baggage claim and follow signs.
Terminal C (United and Others):
Terminal C handles United Airlines and several other carriers. Designated outdoor smoking areas are on the arrivals level near the rideshare and taxi pickup zones.
Outside the Terminals:
Smoking must take place at least 25 feet from any building entrance, as required by New York law. The designated areas are clearly marked along the curbside.
LaGuardia Airport Smoking Policy
New York’s Clean Indoor Air Act prohibits smoking inside all public places, including airports. New York City regulations require smokers to stand at least 25 feet from building entrances. Fines for violations start at $50.
LaGuardia is a compact airport, so the walk from most gates back to the outdoor smoking areas is shorter than at larger hub airports. Plan about 30 to 45 minutes for the round trip including TSA re-screening.
