Yes, you can smoke at Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM) — in a smoking room in the food court on the departure concourse, past security, or in the open air at least 20 feet from any terminal entrance or exit, landside. Guam’s Natasha Protection Act (10 GCA Chapter 90) bans smoking everywhere else inside the terminal, treating the check-in hall, baggage claim, the rest of the gate concourse and both airport lounges as enclosed space where the ban applies.
How Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport Is Laid Out
GUM is a single three-level terminal in Tamuning and Barrigada, a few miles east of the capital, Hagåtña — arrivals, immigration and baggage claim in the basement, airline ticketing on the ground/apron level, and the departure gate concourse on the third floor.
Where to Smoke Outside the Terminal
Open-air smoking outside the terminal building is permitted at least 20 feet from any entrance or exit — the buffer Guam’s Natasha Protection Act sets for enclosed public places. Because GIAA is a government of Guam facility, the Act’s usual outdoor-patio exception does not apply to it, so the flat 20-foot line is the rule here rather than a patio boundary. GIAA’s own website publishes no marked or designated smoking area beyond that legal setback.
The Food-Court Smoking Room (Airside)
Guam law makes an unusual exception for this one airport. 10 GCA §90107(b) authorizes the A.B. A Guam-based traveller’s blog (Japan Rent-A-Car Guam, published November 2024) mentions stopping at the food court right after the security check and finding a smoking room there. Sleeping in Airports’ guide (updated February 2026) separately names a designated smoking area on the airside, across from gate 9 — in the same part of the concourse. GIAA’s own website does not list the room, so these traveller accounts, not airport signage, are how you find it once you’re past security.
Sagan Bisita Lounge
Sagan Bisita, on the West Concourse across from gate 7, does not list a smoking room. It is an enclosed public space under the Natasha Protection Act, so the nearest smoking option from here is the food-court smoking room described above.
United Club
The United Club, on the concourse level between gates 10 and 11 and open to United Club members, Star Alliance Gold-tier flyers and other eligible travellers, likewise lists no smoking facility of its own.
After Security
The food-court smoking room on the departure concourse is the after-security option — see the section above for exact wording and sourcing. Both lounges remain enclosed public places under the Natasha Protection Act with no smoking facility of their own.
E-Cigarettes and Vaping
Guam’s Natasha Protection Act defines “smoking” to include the use of an electronic smoking device, so vaping follows the same rules as cigarettes: the open-air, 20-foot buffer landside, or the food-court smoking room past security. No traveller report specifically mentions vaping inside the room; the Act’s definition covers it there as well.
