Yes, you can smoke at Spokane International Airport (GEG), but only in the marked designated smoking areas outside the terminal building. The terminal itself is entirely smoke-free, so there is no lounge or smoking room past the TSA checkpoint.
Outside the Terminal
GEG provides several designated outdoor smoking areas along the curb fronting the terminal. They are set back from the entrance doors, and smoking outside these marked spots anywhere on airport property is prohibited. Look for the signage and ashtrays near the curb on the ground level as you exit baggage claim or the departures hall.
If you are flying out, the practical move is to finish your cigarette curbside before you check in and clear security. There is no way to smoke and stay airside, so a departing smoker has to exit the secure area entirely and pass back through TSA.
Washington State Rule
Washington’s Smoking in Public Places law keeps all indoor public spaces, including the entire terminal, smoke-free, and requires smokers to stay at least 25 feet from doors, windows, and air intakes. The airport’s designated curbside areas are positioned to meet that setback, so use the marked zones rather than lighting up directly outside an entrance.
