No, you cannot smoke inside or after security at Entebbe International Airport (EBB). Smoking is confined to a designated outdoor area by the Arrivals Hall on the landside — the terminal interior and the entire airside are smoke-free.
Entebbe is Uganda’s main international gateway, sitting on the shore of Lake Victoria about 40 km southwest of Kampala. The airport has recently been expanded with a new passenger terminal and upgraded facilities, but the no-smoking policy inside the building remains strict.
Where to Smoke
The only place to light up is a designated outdoor smoking area by the Arrivals Hall, landside (traveller-reported). The terminal interior — including all gates and lounges after security — is smoke-free under Uganda’s strict Tobacco Control Act 2015, which also requires smoking to be at least 50 metres from building entrances.
There is no indoor or airside smoking room anywhere in the terminal. Departing and transit passengers must smoke before clearing security, as there is no way to step outside once airside.
Vaping
IMPORTANT: Uganda’s Tobacco Control Act 2015 bans bringing e-cigarettes and vapes into the country — import, sale and distribution are all prohibited. Do not carry a vape into Uganda, and treat vaping as not permitted at the airport.
