## Smoking Rooms by Terminal

Every terminal at DXB has ventilated indoor smoking rooms after security, in the gate areas. There are no outdoor airside terraces — all the airside smoking is indoors. Outdoor smoking is only available landside, at the kerbside areas outside each terminal.

### Terminal 1 (Concourse D)

Terminal 1 handles international long-haul carriers outside the Emirates network (such as British Airways and Lufthansa) and feeds Concourse D (the D Gates), reached airside from Terminal 3 by a short airport-train ride. Dubai Airports’ own map lists three smoking lounges in Terminal 1: one on the D Gates departures level and two on the D Gates arrivals level.

- **Departures, D Gates** — travellers describe a Camel-branded room on the main floor between **Gates D12 and D13** and a Winston-branded room upstairs near **Gate D1**, reached by following the “Airport lounges” signs
- **Arrivals, D Gates** — two smoking lounges on the operator’s map for arriving passengers

The operator’s map shows one departures lounge and travellers describe two departures rooms; the airside signs are the best guide to the room in use.

### Terminal 2

Terminal 2 (the F Gates) is a standalone building on the far side of the airfield, serving regional and international flights. It is **not** connected airside to Terminals 1 and 3\.

- Two **smoking lounges** in the main terminal on Dubai Airports’ own map, in the departures and boarding-gate area
- A **smoking point inside the T2 Marhaba Lounge** for paid-lounge guests

### Terminal 3 (Concourses A, B, C)

Terminal 3, used mainly by Emirates and also by flydubai, United and Air Canada, is one of the largest airport buildings in the world, split across three concourses, all connected airside. Dubai Airports’ own map lists eight smoking lounges here, seven in departures across the A, B and C gates and one at C Gates arrivals; travellers describe five of them by gate.

- **Concourse A** (the world’s first purpose-built A380 concourse, Emirates only): a smoking room near **Gate A2**.
- **Concourse B** (Emirates main concourse, also United and Air Canada): a **Winston smoking room** near **Gates B3/B7**, and a **Ploom smoking room** on the top floor near **Gates B25/B27**, next to the Hard Rock Cafe.
- **Concourse C** (older Emirates gates and partner airlines): smoking rooms near **Gates C9 and C23**.

## Lounges with Smoking Rooms

If you would rather smoke with food, drinks and seating, several paid lounges at DXB have a dedicated smoking room inside:

- **Marhaba Lounges** — in Terminals 1, 2 and 3
- **Plaza Premium Lounge** — Terminal 3, Concourse A
- **Ahlan Business Class Lounges** — Terminal 1 (Concourse D) and Terminal 3 (Concourses B and C)
- **Emirates premium-cabin lounges** — Terminal 3, for eligible First and Business passengers

## Vaping at Dubai Airport

E-cigarettes and vapes have been **legal in the UAE since April 2019** under federal regulation, and the gates, lounges and general terminal are vape-free like any other smoke-free space. Dubai Airports publishes no separate vaping rule for its smoking rooms, so ask staff at the door before you use one. Carry your device and spare batteries in your carry-on, never in checked baggage.

## Connecting at DXB: A Smoker’s Tip

Terminals 1 and 3 are joined airside, so if you are connecting between them you can reach a smoking room in either by the short airport train without clearing immigration — handy on a long layover. Terminal 2 sits across the airfield on its own and is not airside-connected; for a connection between Terminal 2 and Terminal 1 or 3, ask your airline how the transfer works before you plan a smoke.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Can you smoke in Dubai Airport?

Yes — Dubai Airport has ventilated indoor smoking rooms after security in all three terminals: Terminal 1 (Concourse D), Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 (Concourses A, B and C), so you can smoke without leaving the secure zone. Dubai Airports’ own map lists 13 smoking lounges across the three terminals.

### Where are the smoking areas at Dubai Airport Terminal 3?

Dubai Airports’ own map lists eight smoking lounges in Terminal 3, across all three concourses. Travellers describe a room near Gate A2 in Concourse A; a Winston-branded smoking room near Gates B3/B7 and a Ploom-branded smoking room near Gates B25/B27 in Concourse B; and rooms near Gates C9 and C23 in Concourse C.

### Is there a smoking area in Dubai Airport after security?

Yes, every terminal has ventilated smoking rooms after security. There are no outdoor airside terraces — all airside smoking at DXB is in indoor rooms near the gates. Outdoor smoking is only at the landside kerbside areas outside the terminals.

### Can I vape at Dubai Airport?

E-cigarettes have been legal in the UAE since April 2019, and the terminal outside the smoking rooms is vape-free like any other smoke-free space. Dubai Airports publishes no separate vaping rule for the rooms themselves, so ask staff at the door before using one. Carry your device in your carry-on, not checked baggage.

### How many smoking rooms does each terminal at Dubai Airport have?

Dubai Airports’ own map lists 13 smoking lounges: eight in Terminal 3 (seven in departures across the A, B and C gates and one at C Gates arrivals), three in Terminal 1 (one on the D Gates departures level and two at arrivals) and two in Terminal 2’s main terminal. Travellers describe five of the Terminal 3 rooms by gate: A2, B3/B7, B25/B27, C9 and C23.

### Can I smoke while connecting between terminals at Dubai Airport?

Yes if you connect between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, which are joined airside — a short airport-train ride links Terminal 3 to Terminal 1’s D Gates, so you can reach a smoking room in either without clearing immigration. Terminal 2 is a separate building across the airfield and is not airside-connected to T1 or T3; ask your airline how a Terminal 2 connection works.
