Yes, Stockholm Bromma Airport (BMA) has designated outdoor smoking areas just outside the terminal entrance, marked and set back from the doors. Smoking is outdoor-only here, with no indoor smoking room. Snus (smokeless tobacco) can be used anywhere in the terminal as an alternative.
Airport Status
Bromma is the closest commercial airport to central Stockholm, about 7 km northwest of the city. It remains open and operating, but scheduled commercial traffic has collapsed: after the main regional carriers withdrew at the end of 2024, passenger numbers fell sharply and the airport now handles only a handful of small domestic regional routes alongside heavy private and business-jet activity. Swedavia has called Bromma commercially unviable and closure has been proposed repeatedly, but no closure has taken effect. If you are flying from here, confirm your flight and terminal directly with your airline.
Smoking Areas
Before security: Outdoor designated smoking areas are located outside the terminal entrance. Look for ashtrays near the doors. This is the main and only smoking location at the airport.
After security: There are no smoking areas after security. Once past security, you cannot smoke until you exit the terminal. However, given the small size of the airport, stepping outside and going back through security is relatively quick.
Snus and Alternatives
Snus (smokeless tobacco) is deeply embedded in Swedish culture and widely used across the country. You can use snus anywhere in the terminal, including after security, as it produces no smoke. Snus is available for purchase at shops in the terminal and throughout Stockholm. Nicotine pouches are also widely available as an alternative.
