Yes, you can smoke at Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) — airside, after security, on either of two open-air terraces in the boarding area, including one in front of Gates 21 and 22, plus at several outdoor areas outside the terminal on Floor 0, landside. The terminal interior is smoke-free.

After Security (Airside)
Aena’s own airport-services listing confirms two open-air terraces in the boarding area, open to all passengers, each fitted with catering outlets and a smoking area. A traveller report posted in February 2023 describes one terrace toward the north end of the terminal, with tables to sit at and self-service food and drink, and the other as smaller, near the Burger King in the middle of the terminal — more of a standing corner than a place to sit. Aena’s own smoking-area listing also marks a spot in front of Gates 21 and 22.
A third terrace belongs to the paid Jable VIP Lounge. Aena’s listing confirms the lounge has its own terrace; it does not say whether smoking is permitted there. The two public terraces above are confirmed smoking areas, open to every passenger, and need no lounge access or fee.
Before Security (Landside)
Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the terminal. Aena’s own listing marks twelve separate outdoor smoking areas on Floor 0 around the terminal exterior, so wherever you are outside you are usually close to one.
Arriving passengers should note the same rule: wait until you have collected your bags and stepped outside the arrivals hall before lighting up.
Vaping
Spain’s tobacco law extends the same rule to nicotine-releasing devices — e-cigarettes and vapes are subject to the same restrictions as tobacco under Ley 28/2005’s twelfth additional provision. At Fuerteventura that means the boarding-area terraces airside, or the Floor 0 outdoor areas outside the terminal landside; e-cigarettes are not permitted inside the building.
