Yes, you can smoke at César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE) — airside, after security, on the open-air terrace in the north of Terminal 1’s departure hall, plus outside the terminal building, landside, where Spanish law permits smoking in the open air. The terminal interior is smoke-free.
Lanzarote Airport, in the Canary Islands, runs from two terminals — Terminal 1 for international and mainland-Spain flights, Terminal 2 for inter-island flights — and the airside smoking terrace is in Terminal 1 only.
After Security (Airside)
Aena’s own airport-services page confirms an open-air smoking terrace in the northern part of Terminal 1’s departure hall, where passengers can wait for their flight outside rather than in the enclosed lounge. Travellers place it near Gate 12, with views out over the mountains, the runway, and the sea beyond. Because it is the only airside smoking area, allow a few extra minutes to walk back if your gate is at the far end of the terminal.
The Guacimeta VIP Lounge, a paid facility opposite Gates 1 and 2, is a separate option for a seat and a drink before your flight. The Priority Pass listing for the lounge states no smoking, including vaping. For a cigarette airside, use the free public terrace instead; it needs no lounge access or fee.
Before Security (Landside)
Smoking is not allowed inside either terminal building. Spain’s tobacco law (Ley 28/2005, Article 7) exempts open-air spaces from the airport smoking ban, so outside the terminal doors — on either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 — is where you smoke before check-in and security.
Arriving passengers follow the same rule: wait until you have collected your bags and stepped outside the arrivals hall before lighting up.

Spain’s tobacco law extends the same rule to nicotine-releasing devices — e-cigarettes and vapes are subject to the same restrictions as tobacco under Ley 28/2005’s twelfth additional provision.
