Yes, Lanseria International Airport (HLA) has an enclosed smoking room airside, inside the Bidvest Premier Lounge — lounge access required. Without lounge access, smoke outside the terminal before security.
Indoor Smoking — Bidvest Premier Lounge (Airside)
The Bidvest Premier Lounge has a separate, enclosed smoking room. It is airside, just after the security checkpoint — turn right. Access is via Priority Pass, eligible cards, or a paid day pass. This is the only indoor smoking option at Lanseria.
Outdoor Smoking
Passengers without lounge access should smoke outside the single terminal, landside, near the entrance, then re-clear security. HLA is a compact, privately operated airport (not run by ACSA), serving mostly domestic flights — FlySafair is now the main scheduled carrier after Kulula and Mango ceased operating.
Lanseria Airport Smoking Policy
South Africa’s Tobacco Products Control Act bans smoking in enclosed public places but permits a compliant, separately ventilated designated indoor area — which is what the Bidvest lounge smoking room is. Smoking elsewhere inside the terminal is not allowed.
