# Smoking at Ufa International Airport – UFA

Yes, Ufa International Airport (UFA) has indoor smoking rooms in the airside sterile zone after security, plus a smoking room inside the business lounge and outdoor smoking pavilions near the terminal entrances. That means you can smoke after clearing the checkpoint without leaving the secure area — a real convenience during Bashkortostan’s cold winters.

Ufa Airport is named after Bashkir poet Mustai Karim and serves the capital of Bashkortostan. It operates two terminals under one roof, joined by a warm internal walkway, so you never have to step outside to move between them. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights and Terminal 2, opened in 2020, handles international flights.

### Terminal 1 (Domestic) Smoking Areas

Terminal 1 handles domestic flights within Russia. After check-in and security, head to the sterile departure zone, where designated smoking rooms are available on the upper level. These are enclosed, ventilated rooms, so you can smoke airside without exiting and re-clearing the checkpoint. Look for the marked signage near the waiting hall.

### Terminal 2 (International) Smoking Areas

Terminal 2 serves international flights and opened in 2020\. Travelers report an indoor smoking room in the international terminal located past customs control, to the right. As in Terminal 1, the smoking facilities are inside the sterile departure zone, so you can use them after clearing security and passport control.

### Business Lounge

The airport’s business and VIP lounges include a dedicated smoking room among their services. If you have lounge access, this is a comfortable, quieter place to smoke. Confirm the smoking room at the lounge reception when you arrive, as facilities can vary between the lounges.

### Outside the Terminals

Outdoor smoking pavilions have been installed near the terminal entrances at ground level — one set near the Terminal 1 departure area and another near the arrivals. Step outside to the marked pavilions and keep clear of the doors. Before check-in, this is the simplest place to smoke without going through security.
