Novokuznetsk Spichenkovo Airport Smoking Areas
Spichenkovo Airport opened a large new terminal (about 19,500 m², with five boarding gates) in February 2025. A few months later, in spring 2025, a dedicated smoking room opened inside the sterile (airside) zone, past the security checkpoint. It is fitted with modern exhaust ventilation to keep the air in the departures area fresh, and it was a long-awaited addition for travellers, since the sterile zone previously had no smoking facility.
This is the key spot for departing passengers: once you are through security and waiting for your flight, the smoking room is on the airside, so you do not have to leave the clean zone. There is also a separate smoking room inside the paid VIP/business lounge for lounge guests.
Before security, smokers use the outdoor area away from the terminal entrances. Vaping and heated-tobacco devices follow the same rules as cigarettes — use the designated smoking room rather than vaping at the gate.
