Yes, you can smoke at Yaroslavl Tunoshna Airport (IAR) in the outdoor area beside the main terminal entrance, kept at least 15 metres from the doors. This is a small single-terminal airport with no publicly confirmed indoor smoking room, so plan your last cigarette outside before security.
Outdoor Smoking Area
Tunoshna (officially renamed “Golden Ring” Yaroslavl International Airport in July 2025) is a compact airport with a single ~1,000 m² terminal, so the easiest and always-available option is to step outside. Smoke at the designated spot near the main terminal doors and the kerbside drop-off, keeping at least 15 metres from the entrance as Russian law requires. This area works for arriving passengers, anyone before check-in, and travellers who have time before screening.
After Security
Unlike many larger Russian airports, IAR has no publicly confirmed indoor smoking room, and it does not appear on the usual directories of Russian airport smoking rooms. The terminal is small with limited services, so the practical plan is to have your last cigarette outside before the checkpoint. If you do need to smoke airside, ask staff at the information desk whether any designated area is available rather than lighting up in the terminal. A larger new terminal is under construction and due to open around 2027, which may add indoor facilities; we will update this page if a smoking room is confirmed.
Summary Table
| Area | Location | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor entrance area | Beside the main terminal doors / kerbside drop-off, 15 m from doors | Outdoor, before security |
| Indoor smoking room | Not publicly confirmed | Smoke outside before security |
