Magadan Sokol Airport Smoking Policy
Magadan Sokol Airport (named after Vladimir Vysotsky) serves the Magadan region in Russia’s Far East. It moved into a brand-new single terminal in December 2024, with jet-bridge boarding and a business lounge on the first floor.
The new terminal opened without an indoor smoking room, and travellers frequently note its absence — to smoke you must leave the building and pass through security again. Smoking is therefore outdoors only, landside, outside the terminal entrance. Given Sokol’s harsh winters and frequent flight delays, smoke before you go through screening and keep this in mind when planning your time.
