Yes, you can smoke at Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME). There are indoor smoking rooms airside in the international departures area (Gallery E, near Gates 5 and 8), three free domestic airside rooms in Galleries C and D (opened 7 November 2025), and outdoor smoking points at the terminal entrances.
Domodedovo is one of Moscow’s three major airports. Russia’s 2013 anti-smoking law cleared smoking from the terminals, but later amendments let airports reinstate dedicated rooms, and Domodedovo opened indoor smoking rooms in international departures in July 2024 to serve its large volume of transit passengers.
International Departures
Indoor smoking rooms are located airside in Gallery E, near Gates 5 and 8, opened in July 2024. They serve passengers who have cleared passport control and cannot easily leave the sterile departure zone during a connection.
Domestic Departures
On the domestic side, three free smoking rooms opened in the sterile zone on 7 November 2025 — two in Gallery C (one on the route to the jet bridges, one on the ground level serving the bus-boarding gates) and one in Gallery D on the route to the jet bridges. The rooms are ventilated, free to use, and fitted with flight-information displays; no lounge access is required.
Outside the Terminal
Designated outdoor smoking areas are marked near the terminal entrances and exits, set back at least 15 metres from the doors as required by Russian federal law. These are the easiest option before security.
