No, you cannot smoke inside the terminal at Allama Iqbal International Airport (LHE) — there are no indoor or airside smoking facilities. Smoking is only allowed outdoors at the landside terminal kerb, before you pass through security.
Allama Iqbal International Airport serves Lahore, the capital of Punjab and Pakistan’s second-largest city. It is the country’s second-busiest airport after Karachi, handling domestic flights and a wide network of international services across the Gulf, Europe and Asia.
Where to Smoke
Smoking at LHE is outdoors and landside only — out on the open-air forecourt and along the kerbside in front of the terminal, before you reach the security checkpoint. There is no officially signed smoking zone, so use the open outdoor area away from doorways and other travellers.
Once you are airside, there is nowhere to smoke. The airside lounges — the CIP lounge, the PIA Business Plus lounge and the PC Hotel lounge — are all non-smoking. A connecting passenger who wants to smoke would have to exit airside, clear immigration, smoke outside the terminal, then re-clear security and immigration to get back to the gates. That round trip is not practical on a short layover, so smoke before you check in.
Vaping
Vaping is legal to possess and use in Pakistan, but at LHE treat your e-cigarette exactly like a cigarette: use it outdoors landside only, not inside the terminal building and not airside. Keep vape devices and spare batteries in your hand luggage, never in checked bags.
