Yes, Queenstown Airport (ZQN) has a designated outdoor smoking point in the forecourt outside the main terminal, before security.
Smoking Areas at Queenstown Airport
Queenstown is a compact alpine gateway with a single terminal handling domestic flights plus some trans-Tasman international services. New Zealand law bans smoking and vaping inside all enclosed terminal areas, so the only place to smoke is the designated outdoor point.
Designated Smoking Point:
There is a designated outdoor smoking area in the forecourt outside the main terminal, near the taxi and drop-off area. It is clearly signposted as a smoking point — look for the signage as you exit the building, or ask staff if you can’t spot it. Smoking and vaping are banned everywhere else on airport property.
Before Security Only:
There is no airside (post-security) smoking access — once past security, you cannot smoke until you exit at your destination. Because Queenstown is small, the walk from the smoking point to the gate is short, so plan to smoke before you go through security.
