Yes, you can smoke at Mohammed V International Airport (CMN). The airport has designated indoor smoking areas inside the boarding lounges after security in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, plus an outdoor esplanade in front of the terminal on the landside.
CMN is the main hub for Royal Air Maroc and Morocco’s busiest airport, serving Casablanca through Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Smokers are well looked after on both sides of security here, which is handy on a long RAM connection.
Where to Smoke
According to the airport operator (onda.ma), CMN is a non-smoking airport but provides designated smoking areas in the boarding lounges of Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the domestic-flights lounge, plus the outdoor esplanade in front of the terminal on the landside.
Travellers report a “Winston” smoking area in Terminal 2 in the boarding-gate concourse (around gates A2–A3), and a designated area in Terminal 1 near the F-gates — treat the exact gate labels as a guide rather than fixed signage.
The Aspire lounges in both terminals also have their own smoking areas, available with lounge access. Because the indoor areas sit after security, you do not need to leave airside between flights — good news for Royal Air Maroc layovers.
Vaping
The airport’s official rule states it is non-smoking “which also applies to electronic cigarettes.” Vaping is therefore allowed only in the same designated smoking areas used for cigarettes — not freely in the terminal.
