Yes, you can smoke at Naha Airport (OKA), the main gateway to Okinawa. The airport provides enclosed indoor smoking rooms in both the domestic and international terminal areas, which sit under one connected roof. You will find smoking rooms both before security in the public landside zones and after security near the boarding gates, so you are covered whether you are arriving, checking in, or waiting to board.
Smoking Rooms in the Domestic Terminal
The domestic terminal is the busiest part of Naha Airport and has the most smoking rooms. Landside, the 3F check-in lobby has rooms near the check-in counters and the restaurants behind them, and there is a further room on the 2F departure lobby. After you clear the security checkpoint, airside smoking rooms are located near Gate 26, near Gate 32, and at the bus lounges (Gates 28 and 38), so you do not have to leave the secure area to smoke. Arriving passengers also have rooms near domestic arrival exits A and B. Each room is marked with the cigarette pictogram.
Smoking Rooms in the International Terminal
The international terminal, joined to the domestic building by the Naha Airport connecting passage, has its own smoking rooms. Landside, there is a room near the Yuniichi Street shopping area on the 2F departure lobby and one near the C check-in counters on 3F. After you clear immigration and security, airside rooms are located near Gate 42 and Gate 43. The Ryurin Lounge on the 4F (reached by the elevator opposite Gate 42) also has its own smoking room, which is unusual and convenient if you have lounge access.
Connecting Between Terminals
Naha Airport’s domestic and international sections are linked by the Naha Airport Connection Building, an indoor connecting concourse, so you can walk between the two under cover without going outside. This is useful if you are connecting between a domestic and an international flight: each section keeps its own designated smoking rooms, and the walk between them is short and air-conditioned.
