Smoking Rooms at Kansai Airport
Smoking is prohibited inside and outside the terminal building except in designated smoking rooms. All smoking rooms at KIX are completely enclosed with modern ventilation systems that constantly replace air.
Terminal 1 – International
Terminal 1 has multiple smoking rooms in the international departure area:
Near Anzu Bar – Smoking room beside the restaurant
KIX Duty Free area – Smoking room nearby
Various gate areas – Multiple locations throughout the terminal
Note: Terminal 1 underwent major renovations with a grand reopening on March 27, 2025. The commercial area after international departures will be further expanded in summer 2026.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 (used by budget carriers like Peach) has:
KIX Duty Free area – Smoking room beside the duty-free shop
Domestic areas – Smoking room available
Premium Smoking Lounge
British American Tobacco (BAT) partnered with Kansai Airport Authority to create a premium smoking lounge. This facility features a boutique design with a first-class ventilation system that constantly replaces air with fresh air.
KIX First Class Lounge
The KIX Lounge was completely renovated and reopened in May 2025. The new First Class Lounge includes a clean, modern smoking room among its amenities. Access requires First Class ticket or eligible status.
