New Chitose Airport Smoking Policy
Japan’s Health Promotion Act requires enclosed, ventilated smoking rooms. CTS has around 15 rooms, one of the highest counts in Japan. Heated tobacco products (IQOS, Ploom, glo) are welcome in all rooms. No outdoor smoking areas are provided — all designated areas are indoor rooms. The airport is undergoing renovations (since October 2025), so some rooms may be temporarily relocated.
