Yes, Naples Airport (NAP) has designated smoking areas. They are outdoors, just outside the single terminal on Level 1 (departures) and Level 0 (arrivals), with ashtrays provided at curbside locations. Plan your smoke break before passing security, as the airside terminal is smoke-free.
Outside Terminal
Departures Level (Level 1): The main outdoor smoking area is directly outside the departures entrance doors. Standing ashtrays are positioned along the curbside — this is where most departing passengers have their last cigarette before check-in.
Arrivals Level (Level 0): An outdoor area near the exit, useful after landing. The space near the taxi rank and bus stops is open and uncrowded.
Between Levels: The walkway connecting Level 0 and Level 1 has outdoor sections where smoking is common.
Airside (After Security)
Naples runs a single terminal (Terminal 1) with three airside concourses across roughly 20 gates — A (Schengen and domestic), B (non-Schengen) and C (Schengen and domestic). The glass-walled smoking lounges that previously stood by the gates (reported near A9, A17–18 and in the C area) were permanently closed around 2023, so the whole airside is now smoke-free. There is no indoor smoking room.
For a long layover you would have to leave the secure area, smoke at the outdoor curbside areas, and re-clear security — so have your last cigarette before the checkpoint.
Inside Terminal
The terminal interior is entirely smoke-free, including all bars, the duty-free zone and the boarding gates. Vaping is treated the same as smoking and is not permitted indoors.
