Yes, Juanda International Airport (SUB) has designated smoking areas for passengers. Indoor facilities are available in the terminal.
Terminal 1 (Domestic)
Landside (Pre-Security):
- Designated indoor smoking room in the check-in and arrivals area
Airside (Post-Security):
- Travellers have reported a T1 airside indoor smoking room (approximately 7.5m x 7m, with air conditioning, exhaust fans, and a flat-screen TV); travellers in 2023 found it gone — smoking-tolerant café seating at Gloria Jean’s near Gate 8 is the fallback
Outside Terminal 1:
- Outdoor smoking shelters at the domestic departure and arrival areas, plus near the pedestrian walkway and parking zones
Terminal 2 (International and Domestic)
Domestic Departures (Airside):
- Indoor smoking room after security
International Departures (Airside):
- Indoor smoking room (approximately 7.5m x 2.5m) after clearing security and immigration
Garuda Indonesia Lounge (Terminal 2 Domestic):
- Additional smoking room within the lounge for Garuda passengers and eligible card holders
Diplomat Cafe (Airside):
- Smoking is permitted inside this cafe
Juanda Airport Smoking Policy
Indonesian Government Regulation No. 28/2024 requires workplaces and public places to provide designated smoking areas. Juanda provides its own as indoor smoking rooms: landside in Terminal 1 and airside in Terminal 2. The rooms are climate-controlled with ventilation systems.
Smoking outside the designated rooms is prohibited throughout the terminal buildings.
