Yes, Bagdogra Airport (IXB) has a designated smoking area inside the terminal after security. It is located at the end of the hall near gates 1-3, next to the Okyati store. Outdoor smoking is also permitted in the parking area outside the terminal.
Inside Terminals
Bagdogra Airport has a single smoking area inside the secure zone, and finding it requires a bit of navigation through the compact terminal. After you clear security, walk toward boarding gates 1-3 and head up the ramp. At the top, turn left and walk straight ahead — keep going all the way to the end of the hall. The smoking area is on the right side, next to the Okyati store.
It is not the most prominently signed spot, so if you are looking around wondering where it is, just keep walking until you reach the end of that corridor. The Okyati store serves as a reliable landmark. The space is basic — this is a small regional airport, not a Changi or Narita — but it gets the job done and you can have your cigarette without leaving the secure side.
There is only this one smoking area post-security, so it can feel a bit cramped during peak hours when multiple Darjeeling-bound flights are boarding around the same time.
Outside Terminals
Outside the terminal, smoking is permitted in designated spots around the parking area. This is where you will want to smoke if you arrive early, if you are picking someone up, or if you have not yet entered the building. The parking area is right in front of the terminal entrance, so it is a quick walk. Some travelers prefer a last cigarette here before heading inside, especially since the post-security option is at the far end of the departure hall.
