Yes, you can smoke at Santorini Airport (JTR) — outside the terminal building, landside, before security. The island’s single terminal was rebuilt and enlarged in a 2021 renovation, and every sanctioned place to smoke is outside the building.
Before Security (Landside)
All smoking at JTR happens outdoors, before you reach security. Traveller reports from 2024–2025 consistently describe one designated outdoor smoking area outside the terminal, with no indoor room and no airside facility. Cigarettes and vapes are handled the same way at this outdoor spot.
After Security (Airside)
Once you clear security and passport control at JTR, the departure lounge and gates are smoke-free. Before the 2021 rebuild, travellers described a rooftop terrace that allowed smoking after security; travellers described it as closed by 2023, and the airport lists no airside smoking facility.
A connecting passenger who wants to smoke has to leave the terminal completely, smoke outdoors, landside, and then re-clear security to reach the onward flight.
