Yes, you can smoke at Hannover Airport (HAJ) after security, in the smoking cabins in Terminals A, B, C and D, and before security in the marked smoking areas in front of the terminal buildings. Everywhere else in the terminals is smoke-free, e-cigarettes included.

Terminals A to D (After Security)
Hannover’s passenger terminals are Terminal A (Gates 1–6), Terminal B (Gates 7–12), Terminal C (Gates 13–20) and Terminal D (Gates 21–23, reached from the arrivals level). Each has a smoking cabin after security. The airport publishes no gate, level or hours for the cabins, so follow the smoking signs in the gate area or ask staff.
Before Security
Smoke in the marked smoking areas in front of the terminal buildings, and put cigarette ends in the ashtrays provided. The airport applies the same rule inside and outside the buildings: smoking only in the marked areas.
Vaping
Hannover Airport applies its smoking rule to e-cigarettes: vape in the smoking cabins after security or in the marked areas in front of the terminals, nowhere else on the premises.
