Yes, you can smoke at Dortmund Airport (DTM), including airside after security. The airport’s own FAQ is direct about it: smoking is only permitted in the designated area in front of the terminal building, or — for passengers who have cleared the checkpoint — in the smokers’ lounge in the security area.
Outside Terminal (Before Security)
A designated outdoor smoking area sits in front of the terminal building, the option for landside passengers, anyone dropping off or picking up, and travellers waiting to check in.
After Security
Departing passengers who have already gone through the security checkpoint can use the airside smokers’ lounge, in the security area of Dortmund’s single terminal. Smoking is explicitly prohibited everywhere else inside the building, including the visitor terrace and the apron.
E-Cigarettes and Vaping
DTM publishes no separate rule for e-cigarettes. Use the airside smokers’ lounge or the outdoor area in front of the terminal, the same spots as for tobacco.
