Yes, you can smoke at Saint Etienne Bouthéon Airport (EBU) — outdoors only, in the open air in front of the single terminal building. The terminal interior is non-smoking.
Outside the Terminal
Saint Etienne Bouthéon (EBU), in Andrézieux-Bouthéon near Saint-Étienne, is a small single-terminal airport. Since scheduled services were withdrawn in 2018 it mainly handles business aviation plus seasonal charter and low-cost flights, including summer links such as Béjaïa in Algeria, from a compact passenger terminal of around 2,300 m². Smoking is in the open air outside the terminal, near the entrances. Step clear of the doorways and use the marked areas if signed.
After Security
The boarding area is compact and there is no indoor smoking room or airside terrace, so plan to smoke outside the terminal before you clear security. When you land, you can smoke again in the same outdoor areas in front of the building.
Vaping
Vaping is treated the same as cigarette smoking: it is not permitted inside the terminal, so use the outdoor areas. France banned single-use disposable (“puff”) vapes in 2025, so carry a refillable device if you vape.
Summary table
