Yes, you can smoke at Bastia Poretta Airport (BIA) in the outdoor areas outside the terminal. Corsica’s main gateway is a compact single-terminal airport, and the smoking spaces sit just beyond the building doors along the entrance forecourt.
Outside the Terminal
Bastia Poretta operates from one passenger terminal serving both arrivals and departures. Smoking is in the open-air areas immediately outside the terminal entrances and across the forecourt where taxis, buses and the car park feed in. Step out through the main doors and you will find space to smoke before check-in or after you collect your bags.
Departures and Boarding Area
The terminal interior, including the departures hall, security area and boarding gates, is non-smoking. Because the airport is small and there is no dedicated airside smoking lounge, plan to smoke outside the building before you clear security. Give yourself a little extra time if you want a cigarette before boarding, since you cannot re-enter the secure area without going through the checkpoint again.
| Area | Smoking area | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal entrance / forecourt | Outdoor, by the main doors | Before check-in and after baggage claim |
| Departures hall & gates | None (non-smoking) | Smoke outside before security |
