Yes, smoking is allowed at Brest Bretagne Airport (BES), in designated outdoor areas in front of the single terminal building.
Outside the Terminal (Departures & Arrivals)
Brest Bretagne is a compact single-terminal regional airport in Guipavas, the busiest in Brittany. It uses an outdoor-only smoking policy: light up in the designated areas along the terminal frontage, near the departures and arrivals entrances. Keep clear of the doorways and watch for the marked zones.
Because the terminal is small, the walk from the kerbside smoking areas to check-in and security takes only a couple of minutes, so it is easy to have a last cigarette before heading inside.
After Security
There are no smoking rooms or terraces past the security checkpoint at Brest. Once you are airside in the departure lounge, you cannot smoke until you reach your destination. Plan your final cigarette at the outdoor areas before you go through screening.
When you land, you can smoke again in the same outdoor areas in front of the terminal on the arrivals side.
| Area | Smoking area | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Departures frontage | Outdoor, near terminal entrances | Before security; keep clear of doors |
| Arrivals frontage | Outdoor, in front of terminal | Available after you land |
| Airside / departure lounge | None | No indoor rooms; smoke before security |
