Its new departures terminal was presented on 24 July 2026; in May 2025, during the building work, travellers described the open-air terrace by gate 5, where passengers used to smoke after security, as closed, with no smoking between the security checkpoint and the temporary gate tent, so ask staff where to smoke now. Croatian law bans smoking in enclosed public spaces except in an approved smoking room (Article 25 of the Tobacco and Related Products Act), and the airport lists none. The business lounge in international departures, after security, carries no published smoking rule, so ask the lounge staff.
