Yes, you can smoke at Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO) — outdoors, on the landside, outside the terminal building. There is no airside smoking area and no indoor smoking room anywhere in the terminal, so plan to smoke before you clear security or after you land.
Alfonso Bonilla Aragón is Colombia’s main airport for Cali and the Valle del Cauca region, located near the town of Palmira. Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority, has run the airport directly since September 2025, when the previous 25-year private concession ended.
Where to Smoke
The terminal building — used for both domestic and international check-in, security and gates — has no indoor smoking room and no smoking area past security. Colombian law bans smoking in enclosed public spaces, so the only option is the open air outside the building, before you go through check-in and security or after you exit through arrivals. The airport does not publish a signed or marked smoking spot, so step outside the terminal and keep clear of the entrance doors.
Vaping
Colombia’s Law 2354 of 2024 regulates e-cigarettes, vapes and heated tobacco the same way as cigarettes, banning them in enclosed public spaces including the terminal. As with smoking, vaping at CLO is limited to the open air outside the building.
