Zhuhai Jinwan Airport (ZUH) is effectively smoke-free for passengers — the airport publishes no smoking area indoors or outdoors, and Zhuhai’s smoking-control regulation confines smoking on the airport to designated points it has not published.

Zhuhai Jinwan, originally opened in 1995 as Zhuhai Sanzao Airport, sits on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, close to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Macau International Airport (MFM). All flights currently operate from the original Terminal 1; a new Terminal 2, covering about 191,300 square metres, completed construction in May 2026 and is expected to enter service around October 2026, which will roughly double the airport’s annual capacity to 27.5 million passengers.

What Zhuhai’s Smoking Law Requires
Zhuhai’s Special Economic Zone Public Places Smoking Control Regulation (revised with effect from January 2024) bans smoking indoors airport-wide, and separately names airports among the sites where smoking outdoors is also restricted to designated points — Article 8 lists “areas outside the smoking point(s)” at airports and transport hubs as off-limits. The regulation is not a total ban: it requires the airport to run at least one designated smoking point somewhere on the property. Where that current point is remains unconfirmed — neither the airport’s own site nor a dated traveller report places it.
珠海市控烟条例的要求 — 珠海市《经济特区公共场所控制吸烟条例》(自2024年1月起修订实施)规定机场范围内室内全面禁烟,并另行将机场列为室外吸烟同样受限的场所之一——第八条将机场、交通枢纽等"吸烟点(区)以外区域"列为禁烟区域。该条例并非全面禁烟:它要求机场在场内设置至少一个指定吸烟点。机场官网与有日期的旅客报告均未能找到该指定吸烟点目前的具体位置。
Smoking Location — Not Currently Confirmed
Older, syndicated posts from 2022 describe indoor rooms with fixed lighters inside the terminal; that predates the 2024 law revision and is not treated as current here. A more recent short-video post describes the terminal’s indoor rooms as removed; it carries no clear date, so it also isn’t treated as a confirmed source — it simply lines up with what the 2024 law would require. If you’re flying through ZUH and want to smoke, your most reliable option is to ask airport staff on the day where the current designated point is.

Vaping
Zhuhai’s smoking regulation defines “smoking” to include e-cigarette vapour (Article 25: “吸入、呼出烟草的烟雾或者电子烟气雾”), so wherever cigarette smoking is restricted, vaping is restricted the same way. With no confirmed smoking point for cigarettes, there is equally no confirmed area for vaping.
