T2 tends to be quieter than T1 since Tianfu is still ramping toward full capacity, which means shorter queues if you do step out.

Before Security / Landside
Tianfu’s landside is glass, steel, and polished floors — distinctly 21st century. Before entering security or after collecting bags, head to the curbside zone outside the terminal doors. The remote location means most passengers arrive by metro or car, and the drop-off areas have breathing room compared to older Chinese airports.
