Terminal 1 Smoking Areas
T1 handles Star Alliance carriers and most non-China-Eastern international flights.
- International: outdoor terrace beside Gates 68 & 69, plus a second area near Gates 213-216 in the international departure lounge
- Domestic: marked zones at Gates 200-203 and the remote Gates 220-221

T2 is China Eastern’s home and handles most SkyTeam carriers.
- Gate D73: take the escalator to the 2nd floor, look for signs next to Café Deco — the smoking point sits behind the café
- Additional designated outdoor areas are scattered through the terminal with bilingual signage

Satellite Terminals S1 and S2
PVG has two satellite buildings connected to the main terminals by an automated train. Both have airside smoking zones:
- S1: head downstairs near Gates 501/502
- S2: similar layout — downstairs near Gates 601/602

Before Security / Landside
If you arrive at PVG with time to spare, the curbside areas outside both T1 and T2 entrances have outdoor zones with ashtrays. The Maglev train (8 minutes to Longyang Road) and Metro Line 2 both surface into the ground transportation hall — step outside before heading up to departures.
