T1 handles Star Alliance carriers and most non-China-Eastern international flights.

Terminal 2 Smoking Areas
T2 is China Eastern’s home and handles most SkyTeam carriers. The operator’s smoking-point list gives two airside outdoor options here: a platform adjacent to the international lounge area near Gates 68-69, and spots by the domestic remote gates 218-221. Satellite Terminals S1 and S2
PVG has two satellite buildings connected to the main terminals by an automated train:
- S1: head downstairs near Gates 551-552 for the airside smoking terrace
- S2: a similar terrace sits near Gates 651-652, on the operator’s official smoking-point list

Before Security / Landside
If you arrive at PVG with time to spare, the curbside areas outside both T1 and T2 entrances have outdoor zones with ashtrays. The Maglev train (8 minutes to Longyang Road) and Metro Line 2 both surface into the ground transportation hall — step outside before heading up to departures.
