Terminal 1 Smoking Areas
T1 handles Star Alliance carriers and most non-China-Eastern international flights.

Terminal 2 Smoking Areas
T2 is China Eastern’s home and handles most SkyTeam carriers. Designated outdoor smoking areas exist within the terminal with bilingual signage — follow the on-site smoking pictograms, as specific gate locations are not reliably confirmed.

Satellite Terminals S1 and S2
PVG has two satellite buildings connected to the main terminals by an automated train:
- S1: head downstairs near Gates 551-552 for the airside smoking terrace
- S2: a similar terrace near Gates 601/602 has been reported temporarily closed since 2020 — don’t count on it

Before Security / Landside
If you arrive at PVG with time to spare, the curbside areas outside both T1 and T2 entrances have outdoor zones with ashtrays. The Maglev train (8 minutes to Longyang Road) and Metro Line 2 both surface into the ground transportation hall — step outside before heading up to departures.
