Zhongchuan is Gansu province’s main airport, serving Lanzhou. A new Terminal 3 opened on 20 March 2025, and every domestic, international, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan flight now operates from it; the older Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 no longer handle passenger flights. For smokers the rule is simple: the terminal interior is smoke-free, and smoking is available outside the building.

That ordinance restricts smoking specifically in airports’ indoor areas (Article 10), not outdoor space, which is why smoking remains available outside the terminal. No indoor or airside smoking facility has been confirmed inside the new Terminal 3, so treat it the same way: step outside the building to smoke.
