The main outdoor smoking area is near the terminal’s front entrance on the departure level. Step outside through the main doors and look for the designated spot along the curbside to the right. There’s also a secondary spot near the parking structure entrance. Signage is primarily in Chinese, and the universal smoking pictogram is easy to spot. On the arrivals level, smoke after exiting baggage claim — step outside and move away from the doorways to the marked area. In January, Dalian’s sea winds make the curbside feel colder than the thermometer says, so keep a coat handy for the smoke break.
Connecting through DLC? Smoke on the arrivals curb before heading back up to departures — the walk between levels in the compact complex takes only a few minutes, which is far quicker than exiting again once you have re-cleared security.
