Terminal Smoking Areas
Dalian operates a single terminal serving both domestic and international flights. Since the 2016 nationwide ban, there are zero smoking rooms anywhere inside the building. Once you clear security and reach the gate area, you’re in a completely smoke-free environment until you leave the terminal.
The single-terminal layout is less painful than at mega-hubs like PEK or PVG — the building is compact and security lines are generally manageable. Budget 20-30 minutes for the round trip during busy periods.

Before Security / Landside
The main outdoor smoking area is near the terminal’s front entrance on the departure level. Step outside through the main doors and look for the designated spot along the curbside to the right. There’s also a secondary spot near the parking structure entrance. Signage is primarily in Chinese, but the universal smoking pictogram is easy to spot. On the arrivals level, smoke after exiting baggage claim — step outside and move away from the doorways to the marked zone.
