Satellite Terminals S1 and S2
PVG has two satellite buildings connected to the main terminals by an automated train:
- S1: head downstairs near Gates 551-552 for the international-side airside smoking terrace, plus domestic-side spots at Gates H501-502
- S2: a similar terrace sits near Gates 651-652, on the operator’s official smoking-point list, plus domestic-side spots at Gates H601-602

Before Security / Landside
If you arrive at PVG with time to spare, the curbside areas outside both T1 and T2 entrances have outdoor smoking areas with ashtrays. The Maglev train (8 minutes to Longyang Road) and Metro Line 2 both surface into the ground transportation hall — step outside before heading up to departures.
