# Smoking at Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport – CGP

Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport (CGP) has no published smoking area — its official facilities page lists no smoking room, indoors, airside or outdoors — so smoke outside the airport property, beyond the terminal kerb and car parks, before you arrive, and ask staff on the day whether anything has changed.

Shah Amanat is Bangladesh’s second-largest airport, serving the port city of Chattogram from a single terminal and run by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.

## Terminal and Airside

CAAB’s own facilities page for the airport itemises car parking, first aid, banking, duty free, hotel booking, a prayer room, CCTV, Wi-Fi, flight-information screens and luggage wrapping, and a smoking room does not appear on it, either landside or airside. This is different from [the indoor smoking rooms opposite gates 5 and 9 at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport](https://www.airportsmokingzones.com/bangladesh/dac-smoking-at-dhaka-hazrat-shahjalal-airport/); Chittagong’s own listing does not include an equivalent facility.

## Vaping

E-cigarettes are now a criminal offence to import, sell or use in Bangladesh under the December 2025 ordinance. This applies from the moment you land, not just inside the terminal, so do not bring a vape or heated-tobacco device into the country through Chittagong.

## Summary

| Area | Smoking | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Terminal and gates | No | Not on CAAB’s own facilities list |
| After security / airside | No | None listed after security |
| Outdoor (landside) | No | None published; smoke outside the airport property |
| Vaping / e-cigarettes | No — illegal | Import, sale and use are criminal offences nationwide |

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Are there smoking areas at Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport (CGP)?

Shah Amanat International Airport has no smoking area. Its official facilities page lists car parking, banking, duty free, a prayer room and Wi-Fi in detail, and a smoking room is not among them, indoors, airside or outdoors; smoke before you reach the airport, and ask staff on the day whether anything has changed.

### Can I smoke inside the terminal at Chittagong Airport?

The terminal interior is smoke-free — CAAB’s own facilities page for the airport publishes no smoking room, before or after security. This is different from [Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, whose official site lists indoor smoking rooms opposite gates 5 and 9](https://www.airportsmokingzones.com/bangladesh/dac-smoking-at-dhaka-hazrat-shahjalal-airport/).

### Where can I smoke at Chittagong Airport?

Shah Amanat International Airport publishes no smoking facility of any kind — indoors, airside, or as a marked outdoor area. The place to smoke is outside the airport property, beyond the terminal kerb and car parks, before you arrive or after you leave.

### Can you vape at Chittagong Shah Amanat Airport?

E-cigarettes are illegal in Bangladesh — an ordinance in force since 30 December 2025 makes the import, sale and use of e-cigarettes, vapes and heated tobacco a criminal offence nationwide, airports included. Do not bring a vape device into the country.

### I have a layover at Chittagong Airport — where can I smoke?

No smoking room is published anywhere on site, so a connecting passenger has no facility inside the terminal or airside; the only option is outside the airport property, which means clearing immigration and leaving the terminal. Ask airline staff on the day whether that is practical for your connection.
